Mentor - Background Info & Screening

Thank you for expressing your interest in becoming a mentor with the Anchor Mentoring Project.

This is a two-stage process.

Stage 1

In this first stage, we’re asking for some basic information about you, including your Working with Children Check and we’ll also invite you to complete a brief screening assessment. This is a standard part of our processes to ensure the wellbeing of everyone involved.

We’re not collecting information about your experience just yet, we’re simply confirming that all foundational requirements are in place and learning a little about who you are.

Stage 2

You’ll be invited to create a secure user profile in Brancher, our online mentoring platform. There, we’ll collect more detail about your background, your availability, and your mentoring interests to help us make the best match possible.

If you have any questions along the way, feel free to reach out to our team, we’re here to support you.

Let’s get started.

The Anchor Mentoring Project Team

Short Dark Triad (SD3) Questionnaire

As part of our commitment to creating a safe and supportive mentoring experience, we include a brief evidence-informed questionnaire that explores aspects of interpersonal style. This short assessment touches on three well-known traits—Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy—which are collectively referred to as the “Dark Triad.”

These terms can sound intense, but please know:

  • This is not a diagnostic tool,

  • It is not used to judge or label,

  • And it will not affect your eligibility for the mentoring program.

Instead, it helps us understand how people relate to others, especially in trust-based relationships like mentoring, so we can ensure the best possible match and provide appropriate support if needed.

Your responses will be treated with strict confidentiality and stored securely using Snapforms, an Australian-owned platform that complies with national data protection and privacy standards.

If you have any concerns or questions about this section, feel free to get in touch with our team by calling 02 4009 2050 and ask to be put through to a team member.
